Children may not complain even if they are unable to see properly form one or both eyes.Sometimes the only clue may be poor performance in school as well viewing the blackboard at a very close distance.Hence all children need regular eye checkups at the time of starting school and right through their school years. The Paediatric ophthalmology services at Kota Eye Hospital and Research Foundation is providing comprehensive services to all children aged 15 years and below. The most common childhood eye diseases treated at our hospital are refractive errors, strabismus, amblyopia, and congenital cataract,. Jointly with the retina services our hospital conducts screening and treatment of premature babies for ROP, and makes all efforts to enhance the residual vision in children with visual impairment by providing optical low vision aids.
