Dr. Ankit Mahesh Punjabi is a Senior Consultant in the department of Vitreo-Retina at Kota Eye Hospital and Research Foundation. He completed his post graduation in Ophthalmology from the prestigious Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital, Chennai. Subsequently, he went to the long term clinical fellowship in Vitreoretina at Dr Agarwal’s Retina foundation, chennai. He later joined Kota Eye Hospital and Research Foundation as Medical Superintendent and HOD in the department of Vitreoretina services.

He has attained expertise in latest vitreo-retinal surgical techniques & has an excellent clinical acumen. He is an expert retina surgeon and has performed more than two thousand complex vitreo-retinal surgeries of various etiologies. He is extremely skilled in managing ocular trauma (anterior and posterior segment), non drainage scleral buckling, complex diabetic vitrectomies, macular hole surgeries, vitrectomy for retinal detachment etc.

He is also an expert in management of medical retinal disorders and Uveitis and his special interest includes ARMD, Diabetic Retinopathy, Vascular occlusions, CNVM, Polypoidal Choroidal vasculopathy, VKH and other inflammatory eye diseases etc. His primary interest being Retina, he is extremely skilled in managing Endophthalmitis and Retinopathy of Prematurity of all severities..

Dr. Ankit also possesses proficiency in operating all kind of complex Cataract surgeries including implantation of all kind of Trifocal, Toric and Monofocal IOL’s and secondary IOL implantation.

Dr. Ankit is also amongst the eminent surgeons having good hand in performing Lasik surgeries. He has done more than 100 Lasik surgeries till date without any complications.
